The Visit of the Divine Holy Spirit through the houses of the inhabitants is one of the oldest and popular Catholic traditions of Curral das Freiras. This tradition prevails in time, from generation to generation, every year for approximately 3 months, sustained by the faith of the inhabitants. It is a religious, emotional and sentimental family festivity, whose main purpose is to maintain the bonds of the residents with relatives who are outside the island, as well as other parts of the island itself. This tradition motivates our emigrants to return year after year to be party planner and / or participate in the festivities.
