From the Boca dos namorados we can contemplate not only the Curral das Freiras seen by the south part, but also the downtown of the city Funchal.

This path has the peculiarity of connecting to several points of the island.

The rugged orography, the prominent slope and the exotic vegetation dominate the landscapes, in which it is still possible to appreciate a wide range of agricultural terraces and a superb panoramic view over the Curral das Freiras parish.

Schedule

Starting point in Funchal, following up the road near the La Vie Shopping Center, going up to “São João” street, following to the street “Madalenas” turning left, going up the road “Igreja de Santo António” and entering the road Eira do serrado (er107), and finally access the tunnel of Curral das Freiras. Arriving in the center of the parish, you should go the lower part of the parish, in order to reach the end of the road Lombo Chão, were you can start the route.
